Tsohost is a UK Hosting company which is based in Maidenhead, Berkshire, England and with datacentres across the UK. They specialise in domain names and UK hosting (including cloud hosting, Cpanel hosting, reseller and dedicated servers). They currently host over 160,000 websites and both hosting and support is exclusively UK-based.

Overview

Tsohost have been around for over a decade and since their formation in 2003, they’ve grown from strength-to-strength. Also, rather uniquely, the company is an ’employee owned business’ since all shares in the company are held with current staff. This brings an interesting employee-led ethos to the company, which really seems to shine through when you start to interact with them and take a look on their website.

Another interesting feature is that all of their UK-datacentres are ‘carbon-neutral’ and run in a sustainable way, which has got to be a plus-point.

From the customer service point of view, they are certainly focussed in providing a high-level of customer satisfaction, which is shown by their ‘24x7x365 support’ (which is ticket based) and the addition of their free-telephone support which is available from 9am to midnight, GMT.

Tsohost consistently receive excellent reviews on TrustPilot, with an average review of 8.6/10.

88% of customers rated them as 5/5, which is certainly above average. The point which was most commented on was their customer service and response times, something which is certainly lacking in other hosting providers.

Pricing

As a quick overview, their domain name registration prices are excellent, with .com prices from £4.99 per year. That’s around half the price of other web hosting providers out there. The Tsohost website builder seems very well received (though I prefer WordPress) and their standard ‘cloud’ hosting offers a great range of options and bandwidth, and although the ‘lite package’ is a bit on the slim side, the standard package seems ample for most small-medium websites out there. Overall, a good range of products and services which are very well priced.

Our Review

Tsohost are absolutely brilliant. They’ve got a great range of products and services on the table, with loads of packages on offer and something which would suit anyone. Everything is competitively priced and there’s certainly something to suit any price-point. Their optimized bespoke UK WordPress hosting is a great option if you’re just starting out with WordPress as the site would run very quickly due to the nature of the platform. You’d also not have to worry too much about server settings as everything is optimised by Tsohost for you – a very valuable resource indeed.

The telephone support which they offer is much more comprehensive than most other companies out there. During our test call, we were able to speak to someone and get the problem resolved within 3 minutes, which is impressive. Even though many other hosts offer telephone support, the support offered over the telephone by Tsohost was excellent.

If you want to use CPanel (I know it’s my preferred web admin tool) they offer CPanel hosting, though to be fair, their own bespoke web admin tool is one of the best i’ve used.

Overall, Tsohost is currently ranked as our top hosting provider and we’ve no hesitation in recommending them to our readers.
